Furlough ends at the end of this month. As employers you now must consider the choices facing you for staff who are currently furloughed. These are
- Requiring your employees to resume full time working
- Renegotiating your employees’ terms and conditions reflecting requests to revise their working hours and pay and consider flexible or hybrid working requests. Remember this can normally only be done by mutual agreement to avoid difficult terminate and rehire situations
- Ending their employment
Don’t forget all employees who have 2 years continuous service which includes their notice period have the right to bring an unfair dismissal claim to a tribunal
