Effective today

  • Employers are now responsible for paying national insurance contributions and auto enrolment contributions for all furloughed employees. Flexible furlough arrangements continue and all furlough claims for August must be made to HMRC by month end.
  • Although people are still entitled to work from home if they can, employees are being encouraged to go back to their workplaces . Employers are encouraged to share heath and safety covid policies and risk assessments to encourage a return to the workplace
  • Employees previously shielded can no longer claim SSP if they are unable to work from home
  • Employees who have to self isolate following returning from an overseas trip cannot claim ssp if they are unable to wot k from home. They can either take additional holiday subject to the employer’s agreement of take unpaid leave
  • You can however on Mondays through Wednesday get up £10 per person if you eat out at places signed up to government eat out to help out scheme.
