The chancellor has just announced that the furlough will now be extended until the end of March. It will be reviewed in January. The government will continue to pay 80% of furloughed employee’s  salary up to £2500 per month, the employer will pay employees national insurance and pension contributions. Employers will be able to ‘flexi furlough’ to bring people on or off furlough .

Detailed HMRC guidance will be available on November 10th.

If employees had not previously been furloughed they must sign an document agreeing to go on furlough. Employees need to have been registered on the HMRC portal by the end of October to be eligible to be furloughed.
The JSS and JRB schemes now lapse…. At least for now
