As soon as you appoint a person to join your staff you have a legal obligation to provide them with an employment contract

The contract should set out the basic terms of employment including but not limited to hours of work, salary, frequency of payment, holiday entitlement, sickness and abs4ence policy. The contract can be expanded to cover social media, confidentiality and other aspects of the employment relationship.
